Hello, beloved friend. Once again, I find myself sitting at the computer, waiting on the LORD for the words to share with you in The Invitation this week. So many thoughts run through my head – words that would strengthen and build you up, as well as words that would challenge you to come up higher in your walk with our Beloved Bridegroom, Yeshua/Jesus. I believe the word He’s given me will bless you. It certainly blesses me!
First of all…Never be satisfied with where you are! Draw closer still! Cry out to Him everywhere you are and listen to what He has to say to you. Regardless of what some people may say, He absolutely still speaks to His bride today. If He didn’t, He would be a liar. His word says that He doesn’t change… Therefore, if He spoke 2,000 years ago, He’s still speaking today. If He performed miraculous signs and wonders directly and through His followers, He’s still doing those things today. If He revealed things to His prophets back then, He’s still doing it today. (Actually, all of these things I’m writing are written in His word, so this isn’t just some tangent – it’s scriptural reminders of the work and words of our fabulous GOD!) With GOD, ALL things are possible. Those are His words. And I believe them. How about you?
His word is full of the things He wants from you – all of which are completely attainable. Nothing is done by might or power. It’s all done by His Spirit, remember? Proverbs 3:5,6 says to trust Him – not yourself – with all you are and He will direct your path. He promised to keep working in you until the day He returns to get you. He said that nothing can take you out His hand! He promises to be your Provider in times of need, your Comfort in times of difficulty, your Defender against the enemy, your Strength in times of weakness and your Peace in the midst of the storm! He vowed that He would always be with you – never turning His heart away or abandoning you – His Beloved Bride – but staying right by your side in every circumstance in which you find yourself. Whether good or bad, sick or well, sorrowful or filled with laughter, He wants you to know that you can always depend on Him to be with you and to be exactly WHO He says He is in you and for you.
Let Him have His way in you with the least possible resistance from you! You are going to be purged, purified and cleansed and it’s probably not going to feel very good. Embrace those times, Beloved. Know that it’s all for your good – this cleaning up the LORD does in you. He is washing you down and building you up in humility. He is singing over you and His banner over you is LOVE! He will absolutely allow hard things to come your way, simply because of His abundant love for you. He’s watching and testing and encouraging and blessing you all along the way. Take it all in with your mind determined and your heart set on becoming and doing all He asks of you. Show Him your love!!!
Tell me, how is it possible to be too close to the Savior? How is it possible to turn away from the ONE who is so powerful and patient – so loving and strong and determined to make you the most beautiful bride of all time? How could you ever say ‘no’ to that Guy? I don’t believe that you can get too close or say ‘no’. Neither can I.
Trials may be fiery, but that doesn’t matter. He knows when the temperature is too hot – and knows when and how to take you out of the furnace. When you’ve made up your mind that He is absolutely all you could ever want or need – when your face is set like flint – you will sit in the heat of the fire and praise Him for His great goodness and love for one such as yourself. You will joyfully endure the cross for the glory that is set before you. You will cry out for Him to do all He needs to do to get you where He wants you… by His side for all eternity.
I leave you with this story I heard years ago…
There was group of women in a Bible study group studying the book of Malachi. As they were studying chapter three, they came across verse three, which says: "He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver.”
This verse puzzled the women and they wondered what this statement meant about the character and nature of God. One of the women offered to find out about the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next Bible study.
That week this woman called up a silversmith and made an appointment to watch him at work. She didn’t mention anything about the reason for her interest in silver beyond her curiosity about the process of refining silver. As she watched the silversmith, he held a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up.
He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were hottest to burn away all the impurities.
The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot spot - then she thought again about the verse, that he sits as a refiner and purifier of silver. She asked the silversmith if it was true that he had to sit there in front of the fire the whole time the silver was being refined.
The man answered yes, he not only had to sit there holding the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left even a moment too long in the flames, it would be destroyed.
The woman was silent for a moment. Then she asked the silversmith, "How do you know when the silver is fully refined?"
He smiled at her and answered, "Oh that’s easy, when I see my image in it."
Blessings, peace and strength to you!
